Noor’s First Step Into the World

Noor had never left his village in Dhulapadung, Tea Estate – Assam. A boy with a rare locomotor disability in his right hand, he grew up believing the world outside was too far, too big, maybe even out of reach.

But he also grew up with a teacher at home — his mother. She didn’t just raise him, she trained him. From her, Noor learned the art of cleaning services — a skill rooted in dignity, discipline, and care.

📚 He went on to study B.Com (Hons.) and even earned a diploma in computers. Still, life after education was filled with waiting. No opportunities. No direction.

Until one day, Noor discovered Sarthak Educational Trust’s Guwahati Center. From his small village room, he logged into online training. The internet became his classroom, and hope slowly found its way back.

The Turning Point

Then came the defining moment — his first journey beyond the village. Destination: Guwahati. Reason: to compete in the East Zone Abilympics 2025 (NAAI).

Imagine the moment — Noor, who had never stepped out before, now standing in a hall full of competitors from across India. Nervous, but ready.

And then he did what he knew best. He showcased the skill his mother had once taught him — cleaning services. Every gesture was more than technique; it was love, respect, and memory.

The Victory

When the results were announced — 🥇 Gold Medal — it wasn’t just Noor who won. It was his mother. His village. His belief that disability is not a barrier, but a strength.

Looking Ahead

Today, Noor is dreaming bigger than ever. “Sarthak & NAAI gave me courage,” he says with a smile. “For the first time, I believe I can do something great in life. And this is only the beginning.”
